
Actuality Names Thomas Ryan Vice President Clinical and Regulatory Programs Seasoned Medical Device Engineer Brings Unique Mix of Corporate Medical Experience and Top-Notch Medical Schools to Actuality's Market in Surgical Planning and Navigation
Bedford, Mass. - June 5, 2006 - Actuality Systems Inc. today announced the appointment of Thomas P. Ryan as the new vice president of Clinical and Regulatory Programs. Mr. Ryan will be responsible for leading the clinical aspects of the company's product portfolio in the area of surgical planning and cancer treatment.
Mr. Ryan brings 25 years of commercial and academic experience in medical device development and has successfully brought several novel devices and clinical mandates at Johnson & Johnson's Ethicon, Tyco Healthcare, and Microsulus Americas. Prior to these companies, he was on the research faculty at Stanford Medical School, Dartmouth Medical School, and the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College. Mr. Ryan's education includes a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Wayne State University, Michigan and an M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Miami. He has 22 issued U.S. patents and over 100 technical publications and book chapters.
